Since starting from humble beginnings in December 2019, LME Care who is a registered NDIS provider in Brisbane, Queensland has been on an exceptional growth trajectory… and the best news is there is no plans to slow down any time soon.
We recently sat down to do a Q & A style session with Co-Founder and CEO Amar Sharma to learn more about what drives him to succeed and what’s on the cards next for LME Care.
Q: Amar, when did LME Care officially launch?
“The company was created in December 2019.”
Q: Why did you start this business?
“We were working with other service providers and really got sick of management not caring about their clients or value their staff members. So we decided to start the company for the sole purpose of providing a quality service as well as actually help clients develop skills and provide opportunities that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to receive. Not only clients but we wanted to build careers for staff members as well as provide them with a working environment where they are valued and have a company where they feel like they aren’t just a number and work in a team with support and resources for them to enjoy their work whilst not having strenuous working conditions.”
Q: How many staff members did you start with, and how many do you have now?
“We started with no staff. Just Lydia (Co-Founder) and myself. We supported clients ourselves until we could build the right team to support our clients.”
Q: How many properties/clients did you start with, and how many do you have now?
“We started off with community access supports whilst we were finding out niche in the market and we decided that SIL (supported independent living) was the way we could make the most difference in our client’s lives. So we started off with one property and now we have got 8 houses with another 4 opening up.”
Q: Which areas are you expanding to, and why?
“We are expanding to North Brisbane as we have seen a gap in the market there which we feel that our services are greatly required in that region. There are a lot of participants on the North side that are looking for our point of difference in supports and are currently not receiving.”
Q: What is the thing that keeps you motivated and growing?
“Having clients achieve massive transitions and developing skills is the most rewarding part of what we do. Most of our clients have had complete transformations in their quality of life as well as develop skills that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to build. A big motivator for me is providing opportunity for staff members and growing staff in their roles or Work with them to achieve their professional aspirations and unlock people’s full potential. It’s something that brings me great joy to see a support worker grow with the company and progress to management whilst building a long term career for themselves.”
Q: What’s next for LME Care?
“We have a few projects we are working on with the sole purpose of providing supports to participants that would otherwise not be able to receive due to insufficient funding. This will completely revolutionise the industry we are working in as well as satisfy NDIS’ requirements for scheme sustainability.”
Q: Anything else you would like to add?
“I am extremely happy to see the great progress our participants as well as staff have been making since our company’s inception and can’t wait to see LME Care to continue to grow and achieve greatness with our clients as well as continue to uphold our great reputation in the industry. I am also really excited to see our team members grow in their roles and create fulfilling careers for themselves.”
Starting LME Care in December 2019, Co-Founders Amar & Lydia Sharma hoped to build a Brisbane based business that approached caring for clients and staff in a way that was revolutionary in the industry. Seeing how far they have come, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for LME Care and the team in the near future.
