In case you thought slowing down was in our vocabulary – think again! That’s right, LME Care is proud to announce the launch of an additional service: Home Care Services. This will officially take off from April 2024.

What is Home Care Services?

Often referred to as “In Home Aged Care”, Home Care Services is about providing a range of supportive services to seniors. This enables older adults to remain in their own homes – rather than going into full aged care facilities. The support will often be to help them with daily tasks, personal care, and other general needs.

The types of services required will be tailored to each person. They can include a wide range, including:

• Personal Care: Assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Companionship: Providing companionship and social interaction to combat loneliness and isolation
• Household Tasks: Help with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery shopping
• Medication Management: Assisting individuals with medication reminders and ensuring they take their prescribed medications as directed
• Mobility Assistance: Aid with mobility devices, transfers, and exercises to help maintain or improve mobility.
• Transportation: Providing transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, or other errands.

Home care services can be particularly beneficial for those who wish to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes while receiving assistance with their daily needs.

How Is Home Care Services Accessed?

Accessing Australian Government-funded aged care services is not as complex as you might think. Firstly, you will need to get assessed for a Home Care Package.

The Home Care Package provides support to older people with complex needs to help them stay at home. Approved aged care service providers work with care recipients to plan, organise and deliver Home Care Packages. LME Care is now one of these providers who can work with you to deliver support as part of your plan.
