Our NDIS participant spotlight highlights the achievements, stories, and experiences of unique individuals who are part of the LME Care family. These spotlights provide inspiration and provide insight into how people with disabilities and enhance their quality of life.
This month we are thrilled to introduce you to an NDIS Participant Mitchell – who truly lives life to the full!
Mitchell is a charismatic and sporty guy. He plays golf, ten pin bowling, fishes and is an avid footy and motor racing fan. He was previously happily living with family. It was a comfortable, safe and happy environment, however, Mitchell craved independence. Wanting to try his hand at living independently was a goal. The LME Care team came upon his case, and worked hard to find him suitable living arrangements in his local community.
Fast forward a few short months, and Mitchell has been going from strength to strength. Adjusting to a new living arrangement can be a challenge for anyone, but especially other individuals with a disabiltity. Mitchell has taken it all in his stride, kicking goals and trying new things every week.
The 2024 Regional Disability Championship for ten-pin bowling was held at Coolangatta Tweed Tenpin in Tweed Heads from July 26 to July 28 2024.

This event was a significant opportunity for bowlers with disabilities to showcase their skills and compete in a supportive and inclusive environment. The championship brought together participants from various regions, promoting both competition and camaraderie among athletes.
Mitchell competed in the Singles, Doubles and Teams events. This allowed him to qualify for the Masters which was held on the Sunday!
The Masters was an Open event between 4 players with a 0 Handicap over 6 games straight with the most pin falls. Mitchell came 3rd with a 184 average over his 6 games.
In addition to ten pin bowling, Mitchell is also a keen golfer. He heads to the greens at least once per week. He’s working on increasing confidence with his daily activities and living independently.
